Introduction to QuikFile

QuikFile is an easy-to-use, bulk-conversion utility for converting image files – like scans and faxes – into searchable PDF files. It can also convert to TXT or TIFF formats. QuikFile will watch specific folders for new files to convert, including subfolders. Its flexible jobs, scheduling, document separation, routing, and OCR options make QuikFile one of the most useful PDF converters available. At the same time, its clean, easy interface and helpful wizards make it user-friendly, even for non-technical users.

Start Converting ... Just Drag-and-Drop!

The simplest way to get started is to just drag and drop files into QuikFile:

  • Open QuikFile
  • Drop files from Windows Explorer into the Queue column on the left
  • By default, QuikFile will convert TIFF or PDF files to searchable PDF
  • Converted files will show up in C:My JobsOutputs

Alternatively, you can copy files into C:My JobsInputs then click Get Files. QuikFile will seek out eligible files and add them to the queue automatically.

To convert other file types, use different folders, or set other options, you can see Conversion Jobs Basics.

Tips

Here are some steps to help you get started with QuikFile:

Back Up Your Files!

While QuikFile does its best to take care of your files, some things are out of its control: Windows crashes, power outages, hardware failures, insufficient memory, network glitches, and incompatible file formats, just to name a few. QuikFile will try to back up every file it converts, but you should still have backups of your own.
