File Preview

Enterprise Organizer Pro offers a built-in file previewer so that you can display files without opening them.

To open the previewer, click the File Preview button, or go to the Views button > File Preview. To close the previewer, click the File Preview button again.

File Types

The previewer will display most common office file types, including word processor, spreadsheet, presentation, image, text, and PDF files. Text files will approximate the look of the original, with some font styles and attributes. Image and PDF files will be true previews of the originals.

PDF-Specific Options

Enterprise Organizer Pro provides four options for viewing PDF files:

Standard
The Standard viewer is the fastest, and handles most PDF files well. It allows for scaling, page scrolling, and printing.
Enterprise Organizer Pro
This is Enterprise Organizer Pro’s built-in PDF editor. You can actually make edits in the preview window and save them.
Adobe
If you have Adobe Acrobat (Reader or full version), Enterprise Organizer Pro can embed it in the preview window. This gives you the most power and flexibility, but at the cost of slower previews. Also, Acrobat will often "lock" files so they can’t be moved or opened while the preview window is open.
Text Only
The text-only mode will display the body text of the PDF file without any font styles or attributes. This is the fastest mode.

Switching Viewers

You can change the viewer on-the-fly:

  1. Make sure the preview window is open
  2. Click the Preview task button on the preview window’s toolbar
  3. A list of available viewers will display
  4. Select the viewer you want to use

Your viewer choice will remain in effect until you close Enterprise Organizer Pro. The next time you start Enterprise Organizer Pro, your default viewer will be used.

Location of Preview

By default, the preview window will appear on the right. Alternatively, you can have the preview window appear at the bottom or in its own window so that you can place it anywhere on your screen. To change the location, see File Preview.

Previewer Settings

There are a number of previewer settings and preferences available.
