Save/Open Settings

The Enterprise Organizer Pro Save and Open dialog boxes are able to replace the native Save As and Open dialog boxes of many common Windows applications. This makes it so that you can save files directly into your file cabinets and, by the same token, retrieve files directly from your file cabinets when you are in another program.

There are three levels of integration with other Windows applications: disable all integration, enable integration with all supported applications, and enable integration for only specific applications. Each is described below.

Enable or Disable the Enterprise Organizer Pro Save & Open Dialogs

Use the Enable Custom Save & Open Dialogs option to enable or disable the Save/Open integration.

If you choose to disable the Enterprise Organizer Pro Save/Open dialogs, Enterprise Organizer Pro will never replace the Save and Open dialogs of other Windows programs. But you will still be able to open files from inside of the main Enterprise Organizer Pro interface using the Open button.

Enable for all Supported Applications

If you choose to enable Enterprise Organizer Pro for all applications, Enterprise Organizer Pro will pop up in place of the Save and Open dialogs used by supported Windows programs. This will allow you to save files directly into your file cabinets from other Windows programs and, likewise, retrieve files directly from your file cabinets. Note that you always have the option to view a program’s native Save or Open dialog on a use-by-use basis. See Save/Open Integration for more information.

Enable Enterprise Organizer Pro for Selected Applications

You can disable Enterprise Organizer Pro for certain applications while leaving it enabled for others. Applications selected in the Supported Applications list will continue to use the Enterprise Organizer Pro Save and Open dialogs while other Windows applications will use their own native Save and Open dialogs.

To disable integration with a specific application, simply deselect it in the Supported Applications list. After disabling integration with an application, you will no longer see the Enterprise Organizer Pro Save and Open dialogs in that application, though you can still open that application’s files from inside of the main Enterprise Organizer Pro interface with the Open button.

Supported Applications

The Available Applications list shows all Windows programs that are supported by Enterprise Organizer Pro, even if you do not have them installed. . Use the checkbox next to the program name to enable (checked) or disable (unchecked) the Enterprise Organizer Pro Save and Open dialogs for that application.

For convenience, you can select all applications on the Supported Applications list with the Select All button. Selecting every application on the list will re-enable the Enterprise Organizer Pro Save and Open dialogs for every application on the list. Likewise, clicking the De-select All button will de-select every application on the Supported Applications list. This will disable the Enterprise Organizer Pro Save and Open dialogs for every application on the list.

Add Application

If you wish to use the Enterprise Organizer Pro Save and Open dialogs with an application which is not in the Supported Applications list, you can attempt to add it to the list. See Add an Application for more information.

Ignore Current Location in Save/Open Dialogs

By default, the Save/Open dialogs follow location changes in Enterprise Organizer Pro. For example, suppose that the Save/Open dialog last opened to ClientsDoe, Jane. Now in Enterprise Organizer Pro, you navigate to ClientsDoe, John. The next time a Save/Open dialog appears, it will open to ClientsDoe, John.

You can disable this behavior by selecting Ignore Enterprise Organizer Pro Location in Save/Open. With this setting activated, the Save/Open dialogs will always re-open to the most recent location and ignore changes in Enterprise Organizer Pro. In other words, the Save/Open dialog path and the Enterprise Organizer Pro path will operate independent of each other.
