Set Up the Other Machines

Once you’ve shared items, you need to set up the other machines in the office. This is an easy process that you only have to do once.

Connect to the Shared Settings Folder

When you began sharing items, you created a folder on the network to hold the shared settings. Now you need to point the other computers to the same folder so they can see the shared settings. For example, if you made your shared settings folder at N:Shared Settings you’ll do the following:

  1. Go to one of the computers that needs to be set up
  2. On that computer, go to the Enterprise Organizer Pro Tools button > Connect to Shared Settings
  3. Browse to the shared settings folder. In our example, it’s N:Shared Settings
  4. Click OK
  5. Restart Enterprise Organizer Pro

Any shared cabinets, folder templates, and naming options will now show up on this computer.

Repeat this on each of the workstations that needs to access the shared items.

Disconnecting from the Shared Settings

If you decide to disconnect a computer from the shared settings, there are a couple of ways to do it. You can temporarily switch off the shared settings, or you can disconnect altogether.

Temporarily Turn Off Shared Settings

To turn off shared settings temporarily:

  1. Go to the Enterprise Organizer Pro Tools button > Connect to Shared Settings
  2. Select Disable Shared Settings and OK
  3. Click OK to exit settings
  4. Restart Enterprise Organizer Pro

To reconnect to the shared settings, reverse this process.

To Disconnect from Shared Settings

To permanently disconnect from the shared settings:

  1. Go to the Enterprise Organizer Pro Tools button > Connect to Shared Settings
  2. Click the Clear Path option
  3. Click OK
  4. Restart Enterprise Organizer Pro
