How to use the metadata browser

Next to every field that can be populated with metadata there is a little logo . Clicking that logo will open the metadata browser.

This metadata browser is a great help to lookup all available metadata options that can be used for populating fields in ScanFlowStore.

• Text shows the configuration of the metadata and/or fixed data.
• Metadata name in this dropdown list all metadata variables can be found. Please read the metadata description for more information.
• Description the description of the metadata. This information is entered in the question of the scan module.
• Required when ticking this box this variable must be given in. The metadata name field will show an exclamation mark, for example:
  [!custname]
• Use shortcuts enables the use of shortcuts. When the shortcuts list is not checked, so this box is not ticked, a ^ will appear in the metadata text box, for example:
  [^custname]
• Split allows splitting the metadata. Can be used with custom metadata and user metadata. Possible values are:
• None: splitting is switched off
• Splitter: metadata is split by a splitter character.
• Regular expression: metadata is split according to regular expression patterns
• Splitter It is available only if the value of the Split option is set to Splitter. It isthe character that the program should recognize as splitter, see example 1.
• Regular expression It is available only if the value of the Split option is set to Regular expression. It defines the regular expression that the program should recognize as splitter, see example 2. Here you can find more information about regular expressions.
• Split index the part of the splitted data to use, numerical, see example.
• Character index the character of the selected index to use, numerical, see example.

Example 1:

[VALUE] = abcd-ef-ghi

The splitter symbol is -.

Index 1 is abcd, index 2 is ef, etc.

Character 1 of index 2 is e, character 1 to 4 of index 1 is abcd, etc.

Example 2:

[VALUE] = [email protected]

The regular expression symbol is �[a-z]+@[a-z.]+�.

Index 1 is user, index 2 is email.com, etc.

Character 1 of index 2 is e, character 1 to 4 of index 1 is user, etc.
