Indexes and Indexing

Fast full-text searching relies on a process called indexing. An index is like a table of words and which files they’re found in. Searching is then accomplished through the index. See Activate Search for a Cabinet for more information.

It is critical that your indexes be updated regularly to include newly-created documents. If you use Windows Search, this happens automatically. If you use Enterprise Organizer Pro’s Advanced Search engine, you can choose which cabinets you care about keeping updated. See Activate Auto-Indexing for more information.

If you use Enterprise Organizer Pro’s Advanced Search engine, you can also deactivate indexing for a single cabinet or all cabinets. See Deactivate Indexing.
