Network scanning

In the Questions grid, double-click on an empty row to add a question. The following screen appears.

Edit question:

Meta data name	:	specify the name of the metadata field, the metadata name is not case sensitive and cannot contain any spaces.
Display title	:	this is the question the user will see on the Xerox device.
Description	:	specify a brief description of the metadata field, this description will be used internally within the application to describe a specific metadata field. It is optional.
Default value	:	specify a default value for the metadata field.
Required	:	specify if the metadata field is required, the user has to provide a value before the Scan Job can be initiated.
Mask	:	check this option to mask the value that the user enters on the Xerox device, instead of the actual entered characters the user will see ’******’.
Validate	:	this option enables the metadata validation.
Module*	:	select which module you want to use to validate the metadata. Note that depending on the purchased license, the available modules can be different.
Source*	:	depending on the selected module, you can select an entity/file to check against. All XML files that are stored in the Lookup folder can be utilized when XML is used for validation purposes . This lookup folder can be found in the ScanFlowStore Installation directory, additional XML files can be added to this folder. For more information read How to create an XML file for validation purposes
Validate column*	:	depending on the source that is chosen you can select a validation column, in this column the actual validation values are stored. E.g. for XML you can select any column that exists in the XML file.
Error message*	:	here you can specify the error message that a user will see on the Xerox device when a validation request is performed and the value is rejected.

Please note that the Required, Mask and Validate options are only supported on the Xerox devices that support Off box validation. For more information regarding the scanning functionality supported for each Xerox device please consult the Installation Guide. In addition the Off box validation feature needs to be installed and properly configured before the Validate option can be used. Please refer to the Installation Guide for more information and instructions.
