The OCR and barcode recognition results will always be influenced by the quality of the original document, when a document is copied over and over again the quality will detireate and pixels will get lost. If the original document is not a high quality the scanned document will also be not a high quality. The better the original document the better the OCR result and/or barcode recognition will be, however there are some scan settings that will improve the OCR results and barcode recognition.
To improve the OCR results adapting the scan settings from the scan template is recommended, be sure that the following scan settings are set to the following values.
- Type please be sure to set this option to Text.
- Resolution please be sure to set this setting to a minimum of 300x300 dpi. Depending on the OCR result play around with the resolution. Note: using a higher resolution will result in a bigger file size.
- Sharpness:set this option to Highest +3. This option is not available on every scan device.
