To recognize the text in a scanned PDF, either open it in Edit view or select it in the Manage view. Then choose the action you want to perform:
- Recognize Text
- This is the basic OCR option that you’ll use most of the time. It makes the PDF searchable, processes any Separators, and auto-rotates the pages (if available).
- Process Separators (Enterprise Organizer Pro Professional)
- Enterprise Organizer Pro supports special Separators, which are cover-sheets that show where a new file should start. The Process Separators Only option runs a rapid OCR to look for separators, then splits up the document at the separators. See Separator Basics for more information.
- Send OCR Text to Word
- This option will send the document text to your word processor for editing. Use this option if you only care about getting usable text from the scan.
File Name
If you’re running OCR in the Manage view, you might be asked to provide a file name. The updated PDF will be saved to this name.
