Exact Synergy Enterprise - Upload properties

The store functionality of the Exact Synergy Enterprise module of ScanFlowStore allows uploading documents with property values into an existing Exact Synergy Enterprise system.

After the connection settings were specified on the Store tab , the properties of the uploaded document should be set up on the Upload properties tab:

At first the document properties should be set in the Document section.

In Exact Synergy Enterprise there are several types of documents, and every document type has different properties. Additionally both the document types and their properties can be customized, and some properties are mandatory ones. So make sure that every mandatory property is filled with value, otherwise uploading will fail. For this the knowledge about the mandatory properties is needed.

• Fields: In this table the document properties can be set one-by-one. If a document property is not set here, its default value (specified in the Exact Synergy Enterprise system) will be used for the uploading. Mandatory document properties have to be specified here to avoid uploading errors.
  For a document property the following settings can be specified using the table:
• Name: Select the document property from a list. The list is populated from the Exact Synergy Enterprise system. This column must have a value.
• Value: The value of the selected document property which will be uploaded. This setting can contain metadata. In case of some document properties the available values can be selected from a list (this is optional).
• Default value: The default value for the selected document property. This value will be used only, if the Value field contains empty data (which can happen if a metadata is selected for the Value field, but the metadata does not contain data for the current document). This setting can also contain metadata and in case of some document properties the available values can also be selected from a list.
• DataType: Shows the data type of the selected document property. Its value is populated automatically from the Exact Synergy Enterprise system and it is a read-only field just for information.
• Write pages as pictures: check this option to show the scan pages (from, for example, TIFF or PDF files) in Exact e-Synergy as pictures. When this option is not ticked the scan document can still be viewed but only through external image viewers like Adobe Acrobatic reader. The function does not work with text files (for example, TXT, DOCX).

In the Request section properties of a request can be set. If a new document is uploaded into an Exact Synergy Enterprise system, an additional data called request can be linked to the document. In Exact Synergy Enterprise there are several types of requests, and every request type has different properties. Additionally both the request types and their properties can be customized, and some properties are mandatory ones. So make sure that every mandatory property is filled with value, otherwise uploading will fail.

• Store type: Select a way of adding or modifying a request for a document. The following options are available:
• New: Create a new request for every uploaded document. This is the default setting.
• Edit: Modify the properties of an existing request for every uploaded document.
• No store: Request is not created or modified (just a document is uploaded).
• Fields: In this table the request properties can be set one-by-one. If a request property is not set here, its default value (specified in the Exact Synergy Enterprise system) will be used for the uploading. Mandatory request properties have to be specified here to avoid uploading errors. If the Store type is No store, values in this table have no effect.

In order to add a reference between an uploaded document and a request, the value of the DocID request property has to be DocumentID (it is selectable from a list in the Value and Default value columns).

The value DocumentID can be used also for the FreeGuidField_xx request properties.
