Open Text eDOCS - Upload properties

The store functionality of the Open Text eDOCS module of ScanFlowStore allows uploading documents with property values into an existing Open Text eDOCS system.

After the connection settings were specified on the Store tab, the properties of the uploaded document should be set up on the Upload properties tab:

The following document properties can be set:

  • Folder: Specify the root folder of the store location. This setting is mandatory. The browse () button opens a dialog containing the folder structure of the connected eDOCS library.
  • Subfolder: A subfolder in the root folder can be specified where the documents will be stored. If the subfolder does not exist, it will be created automatically. This setting is optional.
  • Name: Specify the name of the uploaded document.
  • Profile form name: Based on the document profile selection different document properties can be or has to be populated. (These additional document properties are shown in the Profile form properties table at the bottom of the screen.) The available document profiles are automatically acquired and listed from the eDOCS server.
  • Author: Select the author of the uploaded document. The available authors are automatically acquired and listed from the eDOCS server.
  • Client: Select a client to whom the document will be associated. This property is available on Open Text eDOCS version 6 only. The available clients are automatically acquired and listed from the eDOCS server.
  • Entity: Based on the selected Client it is possible to select from a set of entities that are defined for the Client. Specify the ID (string value) of the entity to assign the correct entity to the client. This property is available on Open Text eDOCS version 6 only.
  • Comment: A comment can be added to the uploaded document. This setting is optional.
  • Upload type: Select the way how the document is uploaded. The available options are:
  • New: Create a new document always. This is the default setting.
  • Overwrite: If a document already exists with the same name, it will be overwritten with the newly uploaded document.
  • Profile form properties table: Based on the selected document profile, additional properties can be set for the uploaded document. The available properties are automatically populated from the eDOCS server. The table contains the following columns:
  • Property: Name of the document property. This is a read-only column. The * character next to the property name means mandatory property.
  • Value: Value of the document property used during uploading.

Next to some settings a metadata icon appears which means that metadata can be used to set the value of the property. Clicking on a metadata icon opens the metadata browser dialog.
