Health Level 7 - String Validation

This module can be used for validation purposes. This makes it possible to validate patient information entered on a multifunctional device against information from a Health Level 7 compatible application.

When Health Level 7 is selected as the Module, the Server where the information resides, together with a Port number must be specified. Optionally, the Receiving application and the Receiving facility can be specified to define where the patient information is found. The Validation Field can be populated with a property of the selected source that will be used to validate the value against.

A Validation message can be specified as either fixed values, an item from the selected Health Level 7 source, or a combination of both. If a fixed message is entered, then that message will appear for each validation attempt. In addition, a Detail field can be selected from the Health Level 7 source to display an item based on the entered value. Use the Browse [...] button to access the detail fields. This validation message will be displayed on the scan device.

Validation can optionally be made required. Check the Validation Required checkbox to be sure that data is validated with every scan job. An Error message can be specified using text or metadata. This message will appear on the multifunctional on a failed validation attempt.
