LDAP

This module can be used for lookup purposes. This makes it possible to populate a list of lookup values with the user information from an LDAP server.

When the user selects LDAP as the Module, a pop up window will appear where the LDAP server information, including the server address, domain and authentication settings, needs to be filled in order to connect to the LDAP server. Once the correct settings are specified, the user will select the Source, which will be either the Users, Groups or Computers. Once a source is selected the Display text column is populated with all of the properties for the selected source that will display at the scan device while the Metadata value column is populated with the properties of the source that will get used in the application as metadata.

A Description can be specified as either a fixed value or as an item from the selected LDAP source. If a fixed value is selected, then that value will appear for each selected item from the lookup list, where a selected item from the LDAP source will changed based on which item is selected. This description will be displayed on the scan device. Using the Filter function, the available records can be limited based on the specified criteria. The filter can be specified by using the wizard-based window as shown below:

A default list-item can be selected either by Default metadata value or Default display text. Other than selecting from the Lookup list the user will also have the option to enter a value using the keyboard. If the entered value does not exists in the lookup list an Error message will appear on the touch screen of the scan device, the error message can be specified in the error message box.
