Separators Get Dropped from the Scan

ISSUE: When you scan a document with separators, the separators disappear from the scan. The scanned document, minus the separators, shows up in Enterprise Organizer Pro.

CLARIFICATION: First a clarification. When Enterprise Organizer Pro processes separators in a scan, it will remove them from the final document. This is normally what you want. This article deals with something different: separators never even making it into Enterprise Organizer Pro during the scan. If your issue is that you want to keep separators in the final document, see the setting under the Enterprise Organizer Pro "Tools" menu > "Settings" > "Separators" > "Keep Separators in Destination Documents".

CAUSE: Some scanners, especially those that support duplex mode, have their own option to automatically skip blank pages. Sometimes this can cause separators, which don’t have a lot of text, to be skipped as well.

SOLUTION: To solve this problem, lower the blank page recognition threshold in the scanner options until separators are no longer filtered as blank documents. Alternatively, turn the feature off altogether and use Enterprise Organizer Pro’s blank page removal, which isn’t as aggressive.
