Your Scanner isn’t Showing Up

The scanner source dialog actually comes from Windows, not Enterprise Organizer Pro. So if a scanner isn’t showing up in the list it’s because Windows isn’t seeing it. That’s not really an uncommon thing, even when it seems like everything’s hooked up properly.

Here’s what we usually recommend:

  1. Power down your computer
  2. Unplug the scanner from the wall
  3. Wait about 10 seconds
  4. Plug the scanner back in
  5. Power up the scanner
  6. Wait for the scanner to warm up and be "ready"
  7. Power on your computer

Usually your computer should now see the scanner. If it doesn’t, check the cables connecting the computer to the scanner. Try unplugging them then plugging them in again.

If it still isn’t recognized, download and install the latest TWAIN drivers for your scanner. They’ll be available on your scanner maker’s web site.
